Scotch bright is good for removing light surface rust to. Its surprising what can be brought back from the dead with one of those.

Coke is acidic. So of course it'll clean the metals! Think of it as a cleaner more than anything really.

I wouldnt recommend using it, as it may/can stain your metals or cause "Water" marks as such.

Harsher things that need to be brought back you would use a Polish Paste like Autosol or Duragloss Metal Polish or even Autoglym.

To finish Purple Polish, Flitz Polish Paste would be my personal 2 top picks!
