Armoral..I Think the spelling is correct..
Just wondering what products i should use to bring back the blackness on my VY trims, seals, mudflaps, side mirrors etc?
Cheers
Armoral..I Think the spelling is correct..
A lot of people say Armorall destroys cars. Personally I haven't had any bad experiences with it, but I hear it a lot - tend to prefer 303 protectant inside the car.
@ OP: While I haven't used any of these, this might help (from CCP's website)
Car Care Products / All Brands / Exterior / Exterior Trim & Plastic
black wow is clearly the best i find, armarol is the last product i would ever use
Car Care Products / Speciality Brands / Exterior / Exterior Trim & Plastic / Black WOW
The Mad Dutchman
what about using amoral inside the car????? if not what should i use?
Armorall is only for the interior.
Try Car Care Products / 303 Products / Interior / Dash & Trim / Aerospace Protectant
It does the same job as Armorall, but betterer (apparently)![]()
Try a product called Bumper tyre shine, Export make it, it costs about 3 bucks and its the best thing since sliced bread.. will last about 3 months, if its faded it will go black again, well with in reason..........
re-spray it or youll be forever restoring them.
as for the mirrors, cut n polish works wonders,
and as for the seals, metho does a great job
Ive done some testing on this myself
Armorall - Give a greasy feel and high gloss, not something i love for the inside. Great for plastic wheel wells and thats all IMO
Meguiars Trim detailer - This is a white creamy liquid. It looked great. Until it rained. It ran horribly. I tested it on my white car and the runs were all down the doors. The plastic was dull once again.
Forever Black - A dye based product. I experienced the running issues with this as well, however it lasted a bit longer than Megs.
303 Aerospace - I use this on the interior of all my cars and my customers cars. It leaves a nice non greasy finish that has a natural sheen about it. I also use it on the exterior plastics of newish cars. When applied regularly (every 2-4 weeks depending on the look your after) it stops the plastics fading in the first place. Highly recommended!!
Black WOW - For exteriors only. This is what i use on my and my customers cars to restore faded plastics or apply a gloss. You literally use a pea size drop to do a grill and 2 mirrors, its very economical.
Instead of running in the rain it beads the water off and stays looking great. Ive had it on my ute for about 2 months now and its still going strong.
HTH,
Dan
Thanks all for your reply's i have ordered Black WOW for external trimsand than 303 aerospace for interior even though i found amoral to do a pretty good job.
For the hard non-porous trims, mudflaps & side mirrors the Black Wow is awesome; Car Care Products / Speciality Brands / Exterior / Exterior Trim & Plastic / Black WOW
It will require a few applications to build up a good layer of protection. Once it has been worked into the trim, it will bring back the natural colour and it is a product that lasts. Have a look at the pictures on our site.

As a few have posted; for interior trims & exterior rubbers, use 303 Aerospace Protectant. It is the best product by a county mile. It is designed to prevent deterioration and sun bleaching. It has UV-a & UV-b inhibitors.
It is great to use on exterior rubbers, wiper blades, engine bay rubbers and trims. We even use it as a tyre dressing.
I would not use Armorall - It is greasy and sticky and has been known to stain trims and tints.
The 303 Protectant is all natural (no silicones, no solvents, non greasy) and safe to use.

I use 303 great stuff and with Black Wow a very very very little goes a looooong way and work it in well.
You're spot on with the Black Wow, a little goes a long way. One trick we use is to keep the Black Wow, a dedicated applicator pad and cloth in a zip lock bag. This way you are not washing out an app pad every time you use it, wasting product. We often find for touch up jobs you can just use the app pad without applying anymore products to it.

all armour all does is attract dust to the inside of your car and glues it there. horrible stuff.
and after you realise this you have to spend ages with another product before you get good results as the armour all eventuly goes away.
yeh amour all is only good for interiors and even still its shit leaves a greasy feel like youve just eatn a whole kfc store
personally i would say give armor all a try, for External Black Plastic, it will bring it close to original look getting rid of grey look for cheap.
Meguiars trim detailer is awesome at running in the rain. If your going to do it, do it properly guys.
This is a 50/50 with black Wow
Its impossible to beat
Gonna get some Black WOW myself.
I once did the interior of my HR with Armor-all, the next day the centre console had a big crack in it... It was summertime, but at the time the HR had gone through 30+ summers just fine... never used it since
