Detailers in Geelong area

Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good car detailer in the Geelong area.

I have in Impulse Blue SV6 which has some swirl marks and light scratches which I have tried to get out by hand but with no success, I have considered purchasing a machine polisher and have done some research into orbital sanders and pads and which products to use etc. but I feel I would just prefer to pay a professional to get the car to the stage where I just have to maintain it, instead of spending the money on the equipment and products and still having the risk of doing more harm than good.

So if anyone has used a good detailer in/around Geelong and have been happy with them or if you are a detailer in this area yourself I'd love to hear from you.

There is no one I could honestly recommend in Melbourne. I would encourage you to look at setting yourself up with a good random orbital polisher, some quality polishing compounds and professional pads. It's not as hard to achieve excellent results and there is minimal risk when using an RO polisher. Rotary machines are what people are cautious of when polishing paintwork; by the nature of their action they can easily burn paint. With an RO the only real way to damage paint is to drop the machine on the paintwork.

Obviously a large part of the expense is in the tool but buying a quality tool straight up is the smarter option. All Festool tools have a 3 year warranty and are professional grade. If you polish a few mates cars of lend it to them it can actually pay it self off quite quickly.
