VY SS ls1 made 320hp the the rears
Have VCM 3 cam(228 / 232 0.597” 112 LSA) , VCM OTR, Maffess tune, twin 2 1/2 cat back
Possible big set backs include HSV exctractors and standard cats and auto(on dyno figures)?
So looking into some pacemakers tri ys or 4 into 1's? and high flow cats ( still unsure which to go )
and since had heads off to replace lifters, so tickled up the heads while they were off
Any ideas if its going to be about right for the setup or its a little low in figures? Kept making power to 6700 RPM where we set the limiter.
Cheers
What was the torque like?

Could be a dodgy mafless tune?

who tuned it? has it got an aftermarket stall converter?
and definitely go 4-1's with cam and heads
The HSV headers won't affect the dyno readout that much, just shift the torque higher in the revs and give you more top end.
Could be the tune, if the timing is wrong or the fuel delivery is out it will drop off and only make good torque down low.

Should be making at least 350
Yeah definitely more... as mo1st said, an average cam should net around the 350 mark.
My VY SS is putting down 339rwhp with just bolt-ons, no cam.
Maybe it's just not a happy dyno ? Plenty of them out there.
Haha I didn't realize how far I had dug till then
Have you ran your over a quarter mile? If so interested in what kinda results and what kinda bolts ons used
My vz ss ls1 made 249rwkw or 333 rwhp with an otr exhaust and tune I would say the cam timing is out a degree or 2
Mine made the same power with head and cam on a low reading dyno....
Don't worry what it make mate. I bet u smash all these blokes with bolt ons making 240rwkw.
My VZ LS1 H/C/I has 340rwhp or 255rwkw, I've grown to know that numbers don't mean shit
best et so far 12.12 @ 114
blacktop is where its at.
^^
Try convincing others about that. Raced a guy who made the same power as me with bolt ons. When I had him by 3-4 lengths he started making excuses...
I got ya. There was meant to me a winking smiley at the end of my post haha.
With my old tune it ran 12.9 over the quarter. Later on i found my auto was slowly dying.
got the auto rebuilt and now 3500 stall. Got the guys at powertorque to retune. The old tune was terrible and oldmate thought i was mad driving it the way it was. Now makes 255kw and much better to drive now.
Got screwed over on my first tune that cost $800 which resulted in my auto shitting itself
Now keen to get slicks and put a good quarter mile pass down![]()
