Check that the battery terminals are clean and on tight, also check the main wire on the starter motor, it may have come loose.
Replaced starter motor two days ago, been ok up till last night. When I try to start the car now, I only get a click from the solenoid. Charged battery overnite, but still the same thing this morning.
Any clues where to look????
thanks
Brian

Came home a couple of nights ago, next morning engine will not start. Checked Battery (recharged), checked terminals (OK), checked for spark (OK), - yes fuel in tank. Motor turns over just fine but does not fire up. There is a clicking noise coming from under the cowling on top of the motor when you turn on the ignition, lasts for 2 or 3 seconds then stops. The same noise sounds for about 5 seconds when you turn the ignition off again - not sure if this means anything. Any Ideas?
Have you removed the alternator at all ?
