what car is the engine in?
Hey guys,
have wired up my engine, she is cranking etc, but the fuel pump isn't working...
- Took out f/pump relay and bridged the connectors....fuel pump works.
- Put realy back in, pump not working
- Relays have been swapped around etc, its definately not the f/pump relay
- Fuses all checked out ok
Any ideas?

VS senator mate
Trace it backwards....is the power getting to the relay along the supply line? Is the ignition sending 12volts down the line to tell the relay to switch on?
When you switch the motor to "on" two of the pins on the relay should have 12volts on them.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
how do you mean you wired up the engine? have you done a conversion or new eng or something?
asking cos i wanna jam a VS or so 5ltr in place of the carby fed 5ltr in my vl.....
VLV8VIC if you are really serious about putting the V8 in, let me know and I may be able to swing down and give you a hand wiring in the ECM. By the complete motor, and sensors with it.

More than likely it would be an earthing issue if you have already traced the power and swapped the relay's. otherwise is there not a main fuse for the fuel/injection system.
If he puts power to it, the fuel pump works...so not an earth problem.

yes true but when he puts the relay through the loop it requires an negative and positive thats how the relay works "Took out f/pump relay and bridged the connectors....fuel pump works." with open loop + power pump works onece the loop is closed with relay (earth introduced) pump wont work he says he has checked relays so yeah just a suggestion oh well take it to auto elec and get it checked out
yeah thinking about getting hold of a wrecked SS or something. still investigating so not sure what i can actually put in it. id realy like to see a gen3 in it but im led to beleive its not as easy as swapping the guts out of a VN or the likes.
Perhaps a Series 1 VT motor? They were still 5litres weren't they?

dunno mate... got some investigations to do. i dont know much about the newer engines or driveline setups.
