Default Wiring in 2nd ciggy lighter in console lid

As the title says, i'm installing a rear mounted ciggy lighter in the VN. It's from a VQ statesman, but the wiring has been cut 2 inches from the lighter. So, how does it work from factory? does it just "piggyback" off the wiring from the ciggy lighter in the console?
Or is a new loom going to have to be made?

    Can anyone help???

I personally run new cable from the fuse box as I'm sure there would be a few spare holes and at least then is would have means of isolation and not load up any other circuits
    Cheers,

If you could do that, it would be much appreciated.

Wire from fuse is the same size until it reaches the lighter. I think. I've extended the wiring using factory the stuff from a VN Calais loom I've got in the shed. was planning on just tapping into the original circuit. Then testing both units and seeing if the fuse blew.

Yep just piggybacks off the cig lighter in the front of the console ...more convienience than having 2 going at the same time which will probably never happen unless you try to do it.

Ok ripped out the console this morning. Made my own loom for the ciggy lighter (using the same factory wires) and have taped it to the loom for the console lights. Also have installed a short power window loom to the console to make removing the switches easier. The six wires from the lights and ciggy lighter end in a new plug as well to make life easier as well.

Will let everyone know how the wiring goes soon. Wish me luck!

    SUCCESS!!!
Everything works! Both lighters will work at the same time no problems at all. Wasn't to hard to do, hardest part was getting the console back in. Anyone wanting to do this, just wire the new (2nd) ciggy lighter into the loom for the first. Thanks go to markovr and 88GreenVN without their help i'd still be looking at the thing going WTF?
