VS Caprice Console Lid Wires

hey guy's i just baught a caprice console lid and im wondering what the 2 wires hanging out of it are (one black and one blue) it doesnt have a cigerette lighter in it, but it has the cup holder's witch i will be modifying to work. but i have no clue what those wire's are for?

Wasn't there a light in the caprice glovebox that operated off a tilt switch in the lid?

yeh they're for a mercury? switch that switches on the light in the center console when the lid is lifted

ahhhhhh! i get it, so i know that the blue would go to the light in the console, but where would the black one go to?

My guess would be earth, it is very rare to see a black positive wire anywhere in a car
