immobaliser and central locking

i have a vq statesman and the immobaliser and central locking has stopped working. the keypad has a brand new battery and the light flashes as i press the button. what else could it be?????
any help would be appreciated as i dont want to have to tow my car to an auto elec.

turn the key on and press the unlock button. If this doesnt work the turn the key on and leave it on for and hour. This will overide the security and allow you to drive to Holden. Dont turn the car off to you get there. The key may need to be re-encoded.

Or the BCM has gone bad.
