I thought I was "right" with LPG, just using the VN Auto ECU , like I did with the VR Man ECU, in that everything would work fine except the injectors, as I am running straight LPG without the BCM signal.

The thing runs in limp mode only, idle revs are high.

I connected A6, B1 and C16 to positive and the negatives are there too at D6, A12, D10, D3, D1.

Is there something I am missing. The VR Man ECU plugs in and wont work either.

What Am I missing.

There is no BCM in my 88 Exec wagon when new. It has now got a Calais loom in it with Electric windows and central locking - but no BCM. So I'd say you dont need one and your problem is else where.

The memcal is set for gas?

OK, so no BCM in the base model 88 VN!

The memcal is set for gas?

I'm thinking that is not the issue, as the 12V to the ECU should make some difference, like start the COOLING fan should start and the idle revs should be less than 1500 RPM.

My VR ECU memcal was NOT set for gas and the cooling fans worked as well as the idle RMP being about 700 - 800.

There is a bug here, as the Donor car was running fine, then the transplant and it all goes to crap!

There is a 6 pin plug and the 8 pin plug on the VN loom next to fuse box. Where is the Thick BROWN wire from on the 8 pin loom plug?

I will attach images of the plug, I know where most of the wires are from, but the thick brown one eludes me!

Email just bounced back :(

The only brown wire I found was the tacho - but that would not need to be real thick wire tho..

This thick brown wire is not from the acc circuit, it is from the engine loom, 8 pin plug.
(There is 2 thin brown wires as well, tacho and batt charge light, but not them)

Nah! that's why I'm asking if anyone knows what it's for in the engine loom!

I'm thinking something is missing and stopping my ECU from working!

I might sound like I know what I'm on about, but has got me stumped!

I have illustrated on the diagram below what I have tested with a multi-meter to be either true positive 12V or earth, highlighted with green;

Can anyone see if something else needs to be earthed or 12V to get the ECU to work?????
