Cant get reverse lights to work, VS v6

Hey,
I can't get my reverse lights to work at all, i've tried two sets of new bulbs. Fuses are good, wiring seems very good no rips etc, what could be wrong?

its manual, is it somewhere near the shifter?

its one the gearbox itself, and its in a shocking place on the getrags.

top of the gearbox, drivers side, towards the front.

As above, its the switch on the side of the box (luckily the T5 one is on the side and easily accessible even without jacking up the car)
