Hi all
My battery light was keep coming on so

I change the battery no differance

I changed Regulator....

(Old one brushes looked ok only around 4 mm shorter than new one)

I started the engine the battery light was off but smelt a elec buring smell Coming from alternator
Then i turned off engine a tiny bit of smoke came from alternator
But After around 15 minutes of running the engine smoke disapperd..
So i done a test according the voltage charge on dash
1st test
Idle 11.8 volts
1500 rpm 13.2 volts
2500rpm 14.2 volts
2nd test
Idle 12.1 volts
1500rpm 13.4 volts
2500rpm 14.1 volts
Seems a bit low on idle?????????

I have sandpaper all the elec connections
(that i could see) on battery terminals and earths around the engine bay....

Big red wire on alternator looks ok not burnt out

I checked all fuses that i could see under dash main fuse box under bonnet and them 2 big fuses in front of radiator..

If there any more fuses i could check??????????
And put new brass termials on

So is there any wiring that can be checked???????
Or is alternator stuffed?????

Also when new regulator was fitted engine has a slightly differant noise..
Like a very small whinding???

Also i have read on differant post on here
THat when they change the regulator 6 months later alternator is cooked why is this????

Any comments more than welcome
Thanks in advance
