Here is a weird thing I cant work out...

I have cruise control on my car, it a factory unit rigged up to my 5ltr. I have a T5 manual gearbox so it has an actuator on the clutch peddal to disengage when pushing the clutch in. Anyhow, the thing works fine with my level 2 dash cluster, but as soon as I put in my new level 3 cluster (I have the trip computer all wired in too) it will not activate. I can switch the cruise control unit on, as the crs light comes on, but it will not engage. When I press the set button, the on light briefly flashes up but wont stay on and the cruise wont engage. I have reswapped the clusters in and out to confirm it is the issue and it definately seems just to not want to work with the L3 cluster! Any ideas?

Cheers,
Peter

Have you done the diag mode test on the cluster?

Cluster is used by the cruise control for 3 things ....cruise on and engaged lights and speed sensor input...Im guessing the speed sensor is the drama ..it is fed from the speedo head....it should be on a wire on inst conn 2 term 8 on a green wire ...check on the pc board on the cluster for any breaks and its connection to the instrument plug,

Seems as though this could be a likely cause considering everything works, except the cruise wont engage. I'll take it out and have a look

Have the set button pressed when you tern the ignision on. 3 diag modes to scroll through - the last mode it lights up some of the globes and all the trip segments.
