Battery Light on while driving.

Hey guys,
My battery light's turned on during a drive on the VX I bought thursday night.
Im assuming the alternators busted, as my battery is fried, had to get a few jump starts, couldn't get it checked out today, couldn't find a mechanic open on a sunday .

Do you guys know how much a new battery / alternator is to install?
I know a battery is approx. 150, and a alternator is about 200.

If all leads ect are sound, it's not rocket science and something you can do yourself.. If you can change a tyre you can certainly change over a batt and alt.
