vs fuel tank sender unit to vk fuel gauge

Could some one please supply me with the following info;
Is a vk fuel gauge compatible with a vs-vr-vp fuel tank sender tank?

connect it up it will do one of 4 things;-
1. read correctly
2. Read opposite ie full will indicate empty & vice versa.
3. Read empty all the time
4. Read full scale all the time.

You can live with 1. or 2. but if 3. or 4. then you need to remove the innards out of your instrument panel fuel gauge & transplant a VS innards in its place. ( put a VL tank in my EH & had to put a VL guage innards in my EH cluster, not that difficult ...)

full vh 35-40 ohms ..... full vs 40 ohms ....... empty vh 234 ohms ....... empty vs 283

from these values from factory books it should work the same ....empty reading might be a tad out but read lower than it should...not really a major issue.

G'Day Members,
Thankyou for your responses,I have just fitted a drop tank and tried all combos of wiring.The fuel gauge worked before I fitted the tank it came with a vs sender ,I now have another and tested it with a resistant meter and seems ok and with your info supplied feel happy to fit.If any-one wants to know what I,ve done,I am away for a few weeks.
