VT Dash Lighting Issue

So i bought a VT S-Pac off a mate of mine a few weeks ago, and there is a problem with the Lighting on the dash (Lights that illuminate the aircon switch and the ones next to it). The only lights that are out are these 3 lights and the digital screen underneath the speedo. Speedo lights and rev lights work fine. My mate said that when they replaced the stock headunit with another aftermarket one that they cut some wires at the back and since then they have not lit up. Just wondering if the wires are the problem and how i can fix this. Iv checked all the fuses and such but they are all fine.
