VT Drivers Side Window

My drivers side window wont work, and also when i try do it the door makes a ticking sound? is this a common problem? what fixed it?

how loud is the ticking sound? reason i ask... the window works on a spiral gear and pinnion setup.

If any teeth of the pinnion or a section of spiral is broken, it will "skip" and make a clicking sound.

take your door skin off, and look at the motor, when you are pressing the button... if this is the case, you need a new window reg/motor.
