VY Instrument Panel Display blacked out

Does anyone know if Holden somewhere (NSW) or someone else (auto-electrician/specialist??) can re- calibrate a 'second-hand' instrument cluster panel replacing my original due to lcd display gone blank. Attempted with one dealership who've said they can't get rid of airbag warning light!! A new panel costs $600+ compared to 2nd hand $150!!!! I've had my VY for 7 years now and have been quite happy with low kilometres which I know they can't reprogram into 2nd hand one. I have found someone locally who can do the kilometres but not the airbag light. Any help appreciated.

A month or so ago my centre LCD went black and I had it replaced by Speedline Instruments here in Perth.
He also recalibrated the instruments so he might be able to do something for you.

Thanks for that JeffWM. Been in touch with him and apparently u can just have the LCD screen replaced which he is quite confident of doing!! Would rather do that after paying for a 2nd hand cluster, getting it installed and paying Holden to recalibrate without total success and also unable to enter low odometer, I can just send him the original cluster panel to replace screen. Means I'll be without car for about a week, but I get my original cluster back the way it should be! Pity he's not local, but u take what u can get. Thanks again.

How do you go? My Instrument Panel just blacked out too. Comes back on for a while then goes to sleep again. I've had my VY Series II for 7 years and not one problem. Holden wants $900 to replace and program a whole Instrument Panel Cluster. Up here we don't have many options .

$900? gezz u can get a brand new cluster from holden with 0kms on the clock, try ringing around ay if thats ur only option.

mayb try calling Eugene Cummings here in perth and see if he can send u over the parts and get Greg (pheddy) 2 install them 4 ya wen he's down ur way, Eugene may even have contacts over there where he gets his replacements from. or better yet if u cant wait do use guys have an electroinics store anywhere that fixes TV's ect..??? im sure they could do it 4 ya at least replacing the LCD screen wen u have the parts and if needed then get holden 2 re calibrate it if needed?

H i there, My VY crewman 2003/4 SeriesII just did that too. Does your mate still work at speedline Jeff? Should I try emailing him? I could get further away though live in Cairns. Thanks Deb

i have a vy seris 2 2003 is it easier to replace lcd screen in the middle of the dash or buy a 2en hand claster ??? my lcd gone bank im in qld

Either find an instrument repairer or buy a second hand one and send off to either, Envyous Customs or LSxtreme to be set up for your car.
