Hey guys, while driving today my entire dash (speedo, revs etc) just died. car was still running. When this happened car started to run very rich, and idled very high (to the point where engine was pulling while i was braking) pulled over, turned off, turned back on again in diagnostic mode, battery was at 14v, but then climbed to about 16-17-18 depending on revs. Dash then would cut out once volts were above 15 or so.

Could this be my regulator? or something more serious?

I would probably bank on the regulator.

possibly intermittent o/c battery, but probably regulator. zThese are generally built into the ALTernator in order to save gm some parts bins, and cost you the consumer $.

turns out it was the alternator. Swapped the Bosch 100a one out for a 120a one (the ones in cop cars) that i picked up for $165 brand new. Runs like a champ.
