hi all i am new to the just commodores forum and have been reading a few threads about ve stereo problems. i have had my stereo display go blank with the illumination light still on it lasted a few seconds then return to normal, i had taken the car to the dealership where they could not fault it

i have learnt to deal with it until now.....NOW the whole facia flashes including aircon knob lights and all the little buttons on th side of the screen

i have done the speaker/ amp wiring myself and i am pretty confident i havent done anything wrong as it had worked perfectly for the past year

has anyone had this same problem/advice to give

VE HSV Clubsport R8
Hi, I am also new to this forum because i too have been having display problems with my VE Series HSV Clubsport R8 which I purchased through my local used car Holden Dealer around 5 weeks ago. All was fine for about 2 weeks then one day just driving along with the air con on and listing to a CD the display screen/panel blacked out, but the air and CD were still operating. I then tried to turn the air off and also the CD at the control panel but it would not work, I even tried to turn the music down via the control knob and nothing also. I then discovered that the controls on the steering wheel worked just fine and then the display panel came back on. The other things then, all at random times that would happen, is the border around the display panel would change colour to a purple/magenta look even apon starting the car first thing in the morning, some times squiggly lines would run across the screen and then just go back to normal view, but most common one is the screen completely blacking out. I have just realised tonight, after reading a few comments on this forum that it is a common issue with this display in all VE models and apparently the only way to fix this problem is by having a whole new display replaced. When I purchased my vehicle I took out extended warranty so I advised my dealer what was happening and even took photos of the display when it changed colour, as it still displayed the date and time, they sent my car to our local car audio specialist, which of course could not find any faults at that time and the display didnt play up once, so they said next time it happens just bring it back. Finally today my husband was at the holden dealer with our car and when he went to start it the display panel was not working and it happened right infront of a sales person, who now is going to make sure something is done about the fault.

So good luck with yours and if you like I will keep you posted with the out come of mine!

I am also going to let my dealer know what I have discovered on this forum so they too can do something about it for the next person like me.
