heyy

I have a vt commodore and the previous owner has installed a rear spoiler but never did the wiring for it... it has a brake light on it.

so in the boot I have like half a metre of red and black wire dangling down
I have tried to fix it once before but couldn't figure it out... the closest I got was making the light work when I pushed the boot release button on my key haha

also while on the subject neither the boot release button on my key OR in my glovebox work :(

can anyone help with any of these problems...
I'm not that good with electrics so please work it in a simple way haha

ta :)

I had a look in the boot and I found a cord that attatches to the light bulb for the brake light in the rear window... is this where I should plug the spoiler cords into?

I'm not an expert at all on wiring
all I know is that commodores that came with spoilers didn't have a break light in the rear window because it was in the spoiler.
as yours has the break light in the rear window it's probably the best place to connect to.
For connecting the wiring I have no idea, if the plug's look like they will fit together give them a go but that's all i can help you with

I'll check my car tomorrow and trace where the wire from my spoiler goes and let you know...

FYI- legality wise I'm pretty sure your car must have a high mounted centre break light

mate that's all i know,

high mounted centre break? lol

the cord coming from the spoiler is just a red and black cord... no plug
and the cord for the brake light in the rear window has a light bulb attatched to it lol

I'm not sure how I would add the spoiler wire into the rear brake light plug?

+ve and -ve?
the spoiler was an after market add on...
and the wires coming from the spoiler doesn't have a plug attatched to it... it's just 2 wires :S
would it be safe to try to attatch it to the break light bulb in the rear window?

thanks :p
