Did you buy a battery with the terminals on the wrong side, and now the 90 degree bend prevents it from reaching the battery post? I had this problem when I bought my D34 Optima, solved it by straightening out the 90 degree bend. Simple and quick.

Yeah, I bought a Battery with the terminals on the wrong side.
the terminals are also lower than the top of the battery and kinda recessed in.
i just need to lengthen the Negative to go around the battery instead of stretching across the top of the battery which it is doing now.
it keeps slipping up off from drive vibration and the car wont start

See mate this is all I did. Flatten out the 90 degree bend on the negative terminal and it fits right in. Also sounds like you need to tighten the nut more if it keeps slipping off.

^^^ thats all well and good, but the battery he bought has recessed terminals, so they need to be lengthened to come up on the right side and sit properly.

recessed terminal batteries are what's knows as a DIN series (DIN44, DIN53, DIN65, etc..)
These are usually fitted to european cars and euro designed cars like the focus and VE commodore.
If you have a VT-VZ commodore the battery you need is a 58VT (century part number)
I'd recommend taking back the DIN battery and swapping it for the correct one, specifically designed for the VT-VZ.
Don't think I'm a joker, I work at a battery specialist store, not an auto parts shop that claims to know about batteries.
(FYI: Burson's send all their customers with warranty claims to us because their too tight to fork out $2.5k for the Century test machine)
