Where do you wire a voltage gauge?

Where do you take the volt feed from on a VY Ecotec?

Not sure if I'm going to install one, as they are fairly pointless IMO, but was wondering where it gets wired to?

Preferably directly to the battery.

In reality you can wire it to any positive wire. The additional losses by not being directly to the battery are less than the inaccuracies of a normal gauge

Fair dinkum, to the battery? Thanks for the quick reply, I thought it would be to an alternator wire.

Alternator is connected to the battery anyway. Just steal the feed off the headdeck or cigarette lighter and you away laughing.

Pretty much. Unless you have some uber accurate gauge then go to the battery

No, it would just be a cheap Calibre gauge like the oil pressure one I've just fitted. So I will just connect it to accessories curcuit if I do decide to get one. Cheers.

They are only pointless until you start having problems with your charging/electric system (which in a VY can't be far away). Then they're handy.

Or to keep an eye on the battery if your cranking the sounds with the car off
