HI All
I have a 2000 vs 3.8 the key has been damaged and i need to move it around before i get it back on the road, how can i bypass the key entry so that i can start the engine

Short answer, no not really. And people probably wont tell you how as then, they may as well be handing thief's the keys to peoples cars.

call a locksmith, how do people know that its your car?

That is the problem, i have found many links about it, out dealer says that i have to take it in, but that meens trucking it in and out as i live in the country that is a great expence, i have all the wiing diagrams but that is not much help either

Might be cheaper to buy a vs bcm with keyhead secondhand from ebay etc and install it yourself and forget the dealer

Leave the ignition switched to the "on" position for 45 minutes for a sreies 1 VS,or 120 minutes for a series 2 or later VS,this will bypass the immobiliser allowing the engine to start.Just remember that once you get it running,if you switch it off,you will have to wait the bypass time again before it will start again..Also make sure that your battery is fully charged.A half flat battery wont last 120 minutes with the ignition on, or it wont have enough power left to crank the engine once the 120 minutes are up.
