hi out there, i have a vh commo and yesterday i accidently put the the battery terminals the wrong way round as the posts were opposite to my last battery. anyhow after much smoke, no flames and no obvious melted bits the battery light remains on after turning the ignition off. everything still works accept for the glowing battery light. any thoughts

You possibly could have burnt the insulation on at least one of your cables causing a short to ground.

Should be easy to find:idea3:

s/charged v6 HR Holden, s/charged v6 EH Holden,
You have blown the Voltage regulator in your alternator, can be removed from back of alternator & take it to Repco , they can sell you a new regulator, about $55 , make sure you get a matching one to the one you show them
