Okay, I noticed this the other night, this problem has come from (seemingly) nowhere.
I have a VZ wagon with aftermarket fog-lights (plugged into the factory loom).
I was driving and I switched on my foggies for a bit of extra light when I noticed one side was considerably brighter than the other. I stopped and got out to see if I'd blown a globe, and this is what I've noticed...
-Parkers: Work normally.
-Parkers and Foggies: Work normally.
-Low beam: Works normally.
-Low beam and foggies: Driver's side fog-light is normal, passenger side is very dim, and the pass. side headlight is also dim. Adding to this, my high-beams also illuminate when I switch the foggies on, but they just glow very dimly.
-High beam WITHOUT fog-lights on: Driver's side headlight works as per usual, but the passenger side is very dim. The foglights both also slightly illuminate, but are still fim.
-High beam WITH fog-lights: Same as above.
I've checked fuses, relays, looked for any obvious shorts in the loom, checked that the plugs were all in correctly, and everything seems in order. I'm not very competent with auto-electrics, but I know the basics of what to look for. Now this has me stumped. Any clues?
Second the above. The other option could be a globe about to die.
Disconnect the fog lights from the loom and test the headlights. If you get the same results it eliminates the fog lights themselves and leaves you with the wiring and headlights.
