Hi all, I have put a vn v6 into a kart and I am trying to sort out the wiring and seem to have come to a dead end. So I am looking for some help.

Listed below is what I have done and found out.

- Conected up the standard loom.
-As there is no dash I have just used a couple of togel switches for the ignition barrel. (lots of excess wires and plugs)
- Fuel pump is hooked up and starts and stops with the relay. Running an efi pump and tank from an excel.
- I have run a test light on the injector and seems to me they are ok. light flickers on and off when the engine is turning over.
- I have tested the spark plugs and they are creating a spark
- I have taken off the air con unit and the power stering units. currently do not have a belt running arround it
- exaust oxygen sensor is conected.
- There is one plug that I can not seem to work out in the engine bay. Picture below.
- It seems like it is trying to fire on 1 cylinder only

It is puzzeling me in that there seems to be spark, fuel and air but no go.

Any help is apreciated.
Thanks

I believe I have hooked up the diagnostic plug. As I said it has no dash so no I have not hooked up a check engine light. Which (of the many) wires should I use to create a check engine light? How do I check the error codes?

Guys, I have hooked up the check engine wires to a light and found that it comes on and stays on from acc, ignition and when I try to start it. As I have said I am a complete novice, what does this mean? How do I rectify it?

Any help is apreciated.

Thanks

it will come on and stay on when the engine is not running.

you need to bridge pins 5+6 in the diag plug, and then turn ignition on, and watch for the light flashing.

if you do a search for checking error codes, it will give you a list of what they mean.

Guys, Just had another look to try and diagrose the problem and have noticed that I do not have a diagnosis plug. Can you tell me which wires relate to the 5th and 6th pins.

On the wiring diagrame I have it does not have a specified diagnosis plug but does have a DFI module? where would the plug / wires be in the wiring loom?

Will it make any difference if I do not have a plug?

Thanks

Theres a White/Black trace wire that goes from the ECU connector terminal D6 to the diagnostic connector, this wire needs to be temporarily earthed out to put the ECU into diagnostic mode.
