Need some help on how to wire up a older style Ignition coil for a old v8

I was thinking
Normal Wire from Starter Motor to +Terminal on coil
Normal Wire from Ignition Switch for constant with a ballast resistor to +Terminal on coil
and typically Wire from Dizzy to - Terminal on coil

Would this all I need to do? Would this be the best way?

Also a family friend mentioned about a relay? yes/ no?

yes but you'll need the relay.

otherwise your starter will always be trying to run and you'll burn out ballast resistor.

so starter wire to 85 on relay, 86 to earth, then 30 to ignition switch wire, and 87 to coil positive.

yep same as resistor.

just bypassing resistor under crank.

Oh sweet! thanks mate. I had a diagram drawn up for me and only suggested the relay from the starter if I had troubles starting.
but thanks alot :) much appreciated
