    Default Choosing a battery box

Does anyone in Australia sell decent battery boxes? I like the looks of these in particular..

    Moroso 74050 Moroso Battery Box

    Moroso 74051 Moroso Battery Box

Taylor 48100 Taylor Aluminum Battery Boxes

I really don't want to end up with one of those shitty looking black plastic ones that everyone seems to settle for, but freight costs from the USA are amazingly huge (> value of item) on these things.

Prehaps you could have one made. Go to a fabrication place and see if they could knock you up one of those alloy ones, shouldn't be too hard for someone who's in the know.

those cases that you have shown are sealed battery box's (i'm assuming you knew that), the ones you usually see in other cars aren't sealed, they"re just battrey boxes adn that's it (and agreed they do look shit). You don't have to have a box if you don't want, you can opt to go for a sealed battery which they emit no gasses and can be used in a cabin and are perfect if you're relocating your battery to your boot but don't want a box covering it. $ price is a little but more expensive though. But you back onto the boxes, you can get them from any auto shop usually, and if you want a sealed one then they should be able to order one.

I've got the black Moroso one. Costs a fair bit of coin, but it's difficult to find a sealed box.
No complaints, good sturdy mounting kit, comes with vent hose etc.
I mounted an isolation switch and fuse on the side of the box

Thanks, it's reassuring to know it's a good piece of gear. I don't want to look back at the job and think of all the ways I should have done it better
