Cool VT -idler pulley&drivebelt - Computer Fault

    Hey there,
My idler pulley (top) destroyed its self ( & drive belt), ignition/warning lights are all on without the key in.
    Replaced pulley&belt ($89&under a hour),reset ecu/bsm/computer 3 different ways (disconnect battery,
remove fuses-engine-bsm-main etc)but nothing has changed, Dashlights On No Key - Ignition Loose - Key
    Remote does nothing.
I can't get it to a Auto Elec or Mech , so any help would be greatly appreciated

Possibly some damaged wiring in the engine bay from when the belt came off. Have a close look around in there.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Going on what accentstencil said. It could have damaged your ABS module, those this will throw up all kinds of lights as well as stop things from functioning properly.

Thx guys . The belt didn't brake it just wore down & basically rubbed against the upper idler pulley until it was just rings of plastic.
Car otherwise was fine untill wife got home ,turned engine off but ALL dash warning lights came on & stayed on (even when key was removed)
Is it possible that the alternator was not charging due to damaged belt & the battery is low on charge? Causing the computer/key remote to not function ?

sounds like the ignition barrel has broken from what your describing.

very common fault with commodores. if you search on here you should find a how to on repairing, or call a mobile auto locksmith.

i'd say is just a coincidence.

You champion, had time & patients to pull the covers off today,
And once I got the ignition switch off the barrel housing -
Found that the END(spine) off the ignition barrel HAD snapped
and that was why the ignition(&lights) were still on.
Pick up new barrel&keys from Auto Shop tomorrow on way home from work, will install
in the arvo -& let ya know how it goes.
Thanks for the tip mate :-)
