alternator kicking in and out of charge
hey guys. i have a vx calais and my alternator keeps kicking in and out of charge. is this mean that it is on its way out??? should i just replace it. i dont want to pull it out and put a new one in and it keep happening. they r a bugger to get out. any help would be great. cheers

it'll more likely b just the regulator that needs replacing not the whole alternator.

it was the whole alternator. it had a internal reg so couldnt replace it. i got a new alternator for $200 so wacked that in and works perfect

"Clearly the place with the big shop front window".. Agreed. All reg's are accessible one way or the other.. plus always cheaper than purchasing a new alt.
