VR V6 Executive Electrical prob..

3wks ago Battery wasn't holding charge so I replaced it.
2wks ago. Rainy day I drove across town. 1hr.
Pulled up with park lights on. They shut off automagically when I opened driver's door.
Next morning parking lights were on..
After 5 minutes driving Windscreen Wipers came on, stayed on, even while switched off and would not stop until ignition was off.
Then parked for two rainy hours..
Returned to smell of petrol and while it cranked but wouldn't fire.. wipers stuck on..
4hrs later,still raining, towed it home, plenty of battery but now, it wouldn't crank.

I have a (Max Ellery) wiring diagram for it.. I'm seeing one thing common to symptoms.
Stab in the dark... Body Control Module? (but where is this.. physically)
