hi all, Commodore VX LS1 set up as drag car. Car has been running no issue, now starting custom dash.

Took my cluster out as did not need; putting autometer gauges in.
Now the car won't start.......

Does the cluster need to be plugged in?
If so, what wires do i need to change to have it start without dash?

any help appreciated!!!

Don't know if it's the same, but I drove my old VL without the cluster in and it flattened the battery. Turns out there's a connection through the cluster to the alternator that makes it output to run electricals and charge battery. No cluster, no output, everything runs off the battery until it dies.
Maybe something similar here?
