cruise control no control

:b: hi..ive been having cruise probs lately. firstly two wires were severed on indicator stalk for cruise.. fixed those and then turned cruise on...ok...went to turn off...no go.. all the wires look ok...connectors ok..tried swapping relays in fuse panel box..no difference..have not tried anything under the bonnet....any ideas?

I had those wires break inside the insulation so everything looked ok but they were open circuit...picked that up with a multimeter the control stalk can be pulled apart by prying gently to look at the actual little printed circuitboard with the little switches on them.
How do you mean it didnt turn off..do you mean the on light stays lit even when you push the on/off switch again?

Talking about cruise control with no control, I was cruising in my girlfriends commodore last week on a country road doing 110km/h and I had cruise on, it was raining and i went up a hill and just at the top of the hill the auto decided to downshift and send the car sideways! 110k drift going round a corner downhill. Not for the fainthearted. God damm what a rush!

after I rejoined the wires that were broken and went for a test drive..cruise went on (cruise light) and cruise works fine but cannot turn cruise light off.. I am going to try rewire every wire back to the pcb and check the resistor. after that i will have another look at the relay...after that i will have a look at he cruise control module and cable unber bonnet..if no joy i might scream ..
