Just wondering do the electric water temp gauge sensors fail? I have autometer carbon electric water temp gauge and i changed manifolds so i pulled the sensor out of the old manifold and put in the radiator hose but doesn't work now for some reason?
Any help would be much appreciated here is a pic of what i did

was your old sensor mounted in the block or something? single wire sensors need an earth but cause its now mounted in the rubber hose it wont be getting that earth.

Yeh as above. If its a single wire, the sensor its self earths to the body. No earth....no go.
If you want to put one in the hose, get one with two wires (one earth wire, one hot wire) designed specifically for that application.
