I just through in a vr v8 into my vn.

Got everything to start it but it wont start.

Its cranking and firing but not starting.

My mate ripped out the wires that where connecting my old gas system.. he also took out a little black box from under the drivers side dash ( sunroof does not work after that so i dont know if that was the black box? )

If its cranking and firing... would there be anything electrical that could be stopping it from actually starting??

Thanks.

Plenty of problems to be had especially when someone "tears the wiring out"
Check immobilizer wiring or pickup a wiring diagram and start again

Sounds like he ripped out the bcm. Bcm is what tells the ecu that the keyhead is the correct one and that it is ok to start. 2 options. 1 is to get the vats programmed out and the second is to put the bcm and its wiring in with the vr ecu.
