Hey all,
Just finished wiring up the track car, now i have no key and VATS is removed and have wired a switch for acc and ignition and an engine start button. When i turn acc and ignition on that all works but when i go to press start nothing happens. I then bridged pins 87 & 30 of the starter relay and it cranked. Any thoughts to why this is. Thanks

Where is the power source coming from for the engine start button?

check if you are getting a power and earth on pins 85 and 86.
also is your car auto or manual? if the harness you used was from a auto you may need to bridge the park neutral switch wiring.

Power is coming from ignition wire and starter wire for the button.
Ill check for power on the other pins in the morning. It was auto is now manual and just put in a manual body loom the other week.

did you wire the inhibitor switch wiring to earth?

it gets its earth through the BCM, so if that has been removed you will have no earth circuit to the starter relay.

why not power the push button straight from the battery? worst it will do is cank but not fire? it should be as simple as wiring power from battery to button. then from other side of button to trigger pin of the relay. as long as the ignition is on it should fire. and if not, then it will crank over but just not actually start.

Well you need to check if you are getting the positive crank feed from the switch to the relay.
If you are then make sure you've got the earth there.

One of those will be your problem, if not it will be the relay.
