Gday mate I did this same thing with my vp calais except i fitted a complete roof to floor caprice interior including roof conrols and electric seats. Seriously save yourself the dick around and go to the wreckers and find a vr/vs v6 or v8 berlina or higher model and pull out the complete body loom, bcm and corresponding keyhead. Its a direct replacement for the vn so you wont need the computer and its all plug and play. All youll need then is the statesman/caprice dash piece which is plug and make up your own speed sensor wiring. You can also retain your original taillight looms.
