Hey guys just thought I would run this by you guys see if anyone can shed some light on my situation

Bought a vk calais a week ago
Drove it home all good
Go to drive it out of the shed so I can do some welding won't start
Check over fuel system getting fuel
No spark
Change the dizzy module still nothing
Change the dizzy still nothing
Change rotor button and cap nothing still
Coils got power but
Manually test coil to see if that will spark it sparks
Then jump 12v straight from the bat to the pos on coil and the car starts and runs perfect
Take away the jump wire and it dies

Why oh why is this happening?
No switches or anything on the dash
Car winds over easy
Mmmmmm

Sounds like a pretty easy one, you have done all the hard work.
Trace the coil power supply wire back to where the fault is.

Yeh that's the plan for tomorrow night just wondered if there was a common place they break wires or burn out
All the fuses are fine
Thought maybe the ignition switch could be dodgy?

They break right at the connector on the coil.

Ok worked it out
It's the white switch that the ignition pushes to start the car?
But then I found that the timing mark on the harmonic balancer is out by around 30 degrees
So is this a common thing?

Yes, it is slightly adjustable, if loosened.

Out by that far is either in need of a severe tune up or the balancer is due for replacement.

Tryed to "re-do the timing" won't run now the timing marks line up so will have to pop out plug 1 and find tdc and replace the balancer I guess lol
