I tried searching but couldn't find the info I need. The front interior light in my vx wagon works but when I put the switch in position for it to operate off the doors it stays on when the doors are closed. I checked all the doors & all the buttons are being pushed down fully. Can anyone help point me in the right direction to fix this problem please?

Start by going around and removing each door switch individually, physically undo the screw and pull it away from the body. When you find the one that switches the light off when removed... replace it. It's a very common problem. In the last three years, I've replaced 3 out of 4 in my VT.

When you position the switch to the door setting, does the light come on without the doors open?
If not, as well as what Tas has mentioned, it may also be that the BCM is not switching the light off after the delay, when the door is closed.

All the door switches run directly to the BCM and then back out via a single wire to the "door position" on the dome light switch.
I suspect that the BCM may be faulty as mentioned above.

Or, you could also check the wire that comes from the BCM and goes to the dome light switch. You may just have a bad connection on the switch.
This wire is colour coded; White with a Green stripe.
Pull out the dome light and check that the wire, above, is connected ok.

Yeah the light comes on when the doors are all closed & the switch is in the door position. I haven't had the time to look into it today but hopefully it is just one of the switches or connection at the light. I've got enough headaches wiring in the driving lights at the moment I don't really want to have to track wiring back to the bcm.

Well, in that case, as Tas suggested. Check the door switches one by one.

Check all the door plugs.

Push them in cause they get stuck after time
And lick the light to the middle .

Should work

All good now, no need to lick any bulbs :)
Was a broken wire from the front passenger button. Found it when I was doing another job.
