Can anybody help so I can go to Holden armed with some ammo.
I have a 2006 VZ SV6 ute that is throwing the check powertrain light. I have had the code downloaded and it is the P0008 code which is for RH bank cam sensor? (had it cleared it returned within a day)
My question is does this code relate to a wiring/sensor issue? As in a short to ground or power or voltage below operational range or faulty sensor etc etc? Or does it relate to an actual mechanical fault and that particular bank has fallen out of time a little? (I have heard whispers of cam chain stretching problems with these engines, which worries me.)
Also is there a place I can download a wiring diagram so I can at least check continuity for these sensors?
I'll be trading/selling the ute next year so I don't want to spend money if I don't have to. (If it were possible I'd just take the engine light out of the dash.)
Oh, it has 166000km on it I've owned it since new, it runs fine, idles fine, doesn't use oil. One thing I have noticed since this fault came about is the power to me seems a little flatter than normal. The power was always flat but it seems worse, not by much however.
Sorry to ramble on but any help appreciated.
