Electrical Gremlins

My Mrs has a VX Clubsport...with the 5.7 engine...she has developed this weird electrical problem where,when you start it,the battery light flashes on and off.It used to stop doing it after 1 - 2 km but now just stays at it!! This coupled with the other problem...lights pulsate! All of them,dash lights,headlights,tail lights,radio lights....Its had 3 or 4 alternators since shes had it...I checked the alternator and its charging the battery just fine...

Any thoughts oh learned wizards of the sparks?

I agree with the regulator diagnosis. You might want to consider a new alternator because they are a bastard to get out and the regulator is actually in the alternator (unlike the V6 alternator where the regulator is external). The alternator, being at the bottom of the engine where you don't really see it will probably be extremely filthy as well.

Don't know about the battery light, but
the dash lights,headlights,tail lights and radio lights are all connected to the head light switch.
May be check that switch out for normal operation.

My daughter's VX's headlight switch was dickey.
You only had to touch it and the lights would come on. So may be vibration from the car is
effecting the switch and setting the lights off.

3-4 alternators? Some things is up.... how many batteries? Faulty fusible link?

That will teach me to not read the entire post, I missed the part where you said you had replaced 3-4 alternators. Were they new or second hand alternators?

welcome to the club.. I do it all the time. Even funnier when I go off on one of my little rants and then realize I haven't read post properly lol.
