Well while I was soldering up the accessories, earths and constant power wires, I forgot to tape them up straight away, and I believe that the earth and power connected as their was a spark and a quick crack noise. Now that the wires are all soldered up, the head unit won't turn on... I'm hoping I've just done a fuse... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tried to sus it out... But then I realized I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Looked in the fuse box under the hood, wasn't there I don't think and can't figure out how to get to the fuses under the steering wheel.

My apologise for asking a silly question on a forum.

Lesson to the people who don't know what they are doing. Use harnesses.

you're tackling installing a stereo, thus one would think you'd be able to work out a simple panel to access fuses.

Go to your glove box. and open it ( if you can?) and then take out the manual. and it will show you where the interior fuse box is.

Your welcome.

It may also be the fuse behind the head unit that has gone.

Got the panel open after having some dinner, was being too gentle with it, got the fuse out and it turns out it was just a fuse, would there be any chance of some damage to the head unit?

Oh and don't have a manual, car didn't come with one, will look at getting one soon though.

Also when I bought the head unit, the idiot at jb told me it should have a loom adapter and won't need any soldering. Got home and no adapter to be seen. So I decided to give soldering it a shot. Was pretty straight forward, only trouble I had was that crossed wire... I feel as if I did alright for my first time doing somethjng like that...
