hi,

recently inherited the above and having some wiring issues

the engine check light was never wired in during the conversion and i wish to do so now
todate i have done the following

1/ using a suitable globe fitted into dash (not using any of the existing prnted circuits)

2/ taken 12v+ from ign switch to one side of globe and other side to pin A5 of ecu

3/ NO indication during ign only or driving (checked globe and it works)

4/ swapped out another ecu same result??

any ideas??

regards

What is the part no of the ECU. Should be a 1227808? As soon as you get ignition pin c5 is grounded by the ECU, and this also goes to the aldl connector. I would be checking all the IGN / Gnd wires are connected correctly from wiring diagrams.

I also have the privilege of maintaining one of these for my father. The hilux doesn't have provision for a check engine light, but you can wire in your own, and if you are smart enough, you can set it up so you can call up the codes (manual) count anytime you like.

You should be getting an ignition on (not running) display on the instrument cluster from the Alternator and Oil Pressure lights
