Hi,

I guess its quite common.. but I've searched, and cannot find..

So.. parkers/main lights.. I will have the two (left and right) tail lights illuminated correctly (as well as the centre brake light slightly).

place foot on brakes, the LEFT bulb will go out completely, the right will illuminate correctly and so will the centre tail light.

I had a dodgy trailer plug in there at one stage, which I've completely stripped out.

I have also replaced the LEFT loom, as it was a loom from a VN/P series, not the correct sockets which were causing other issues.

The right loom looks to be in order..

Any suggestions?

sounds like a bad earth ..you should have no visual lighting of the hi brake light with just the park/tail lights on

Check the globe.
I would say, the filament of the brake light is broken and shorting onto the tail light filament.

how did you wire the correct wire loom up? I hope you soldered it and used heat shrink to protect it , not dodgy terminals. like was said a dodgy globe .

hotrod: It was an brand new GM loom from ebay. Plug and play mate.

I'll check the globes over the weekend. All other wiring looks in tact/fine to me.

Will either be a dodgy globe or bad earth. Check the globe sockets for any dirt or corrosion too.

ok then its got to be a globe if its a new loom , but check your wiring to, could be an issue with a wire when you striped the old trailer plug out , use a test light on it check to see if any power getting there or a short in the wires.
