VX - Instrument Cluster Wiring for Park, Neutral, Drive etc

Hi Guys,

I have a VX with a dash cluster from another (unknown) source. Suspect from SS but can't be sure.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to wire up the Park, Neutral, Drive lights on the cluster so it shows up when I select the right gears?

I've used the test mode to display all the lights and these DO work, but for the life of me I can't figure out how the signal gets picked up from the gearbox.

Is it a switch, module, computer related or artificial intelligence?
