Hey guys I have what appears to be an aftermarket alarm that does very little.

I have an aftermarket fob key that will immobilise, lock and wind up the windows. The hazards flash accordingly.

I have an alarm siren under the bonnet but it makes no sound. No key or buttons on the siren.

I've found the following items under the dash that may be relevant

Shock sensor - I know what this does

Mystery box - is this the brains?

No idea what this is

And no idea again

Am I right in presuming a fuse might be inside that black box?

Thought I had better ask before I completely immobilise this thing.

Thanks in advance. Also has a metric **** tonne of wiring everywhere

mate never seen one like this, looks very complicated set up does it have a brand or any description on it.

if you tap the sensor while the car is locked alarm activated does the light flash on it. if not then a fuse issue , good luck on that one mate.

your second last photo would be for the windows , the other square box has to be for the fusses . the other one don't no.

the only other thing is the siren has been turned off . this is done bye the key , but you need to follow the correct procedure , its probably a genuine holden extra , maybe they will know.

Thanks for the reply mate. I found another box with " piranha by Orville" written on it. I researched them and they shut down years ago. I'll have a play with the shock sensor and see what happens. The vehicle has that much aftermarket wiring.

This is before I cleaned it up. Open fuse panel and it drops it's guts

Behind glovebox is worse

Oh man... That's awesome.

What exactly are you trying to do with it? Remove it? Fix it?

Not sure what the plan is really. Just trying to figure out what all the little boxes are and try and establish some order. If I can get it running and it's a decent system then I will keep it. Otherwise, I've no idea.

It still works except for siren. The fob key will wind up the windows automatically and lock / immobilise doors etc. Is say that would be integrated with the alarm etc?

Could you post some photos of the wiring going into the modules? Don't worry about main alarm, just the others. Ultimately, id bin it and put in an upgrade alarm so that you use the Holden key instead of an aftermarket remote. I'd only keep the window lift module.

I'll have a crack at getting some pics shortly. I went to town with cable ties to try an shove it all back under the dash.

It'd be like poking a hole in the side of a swimming pool if I cut one cable tie. **** would go flying
