vr factory temp Guage

Hi there I have just fitted a 95 vr 3.8 into my hilux and have a after market temp Guage fitted . Do I need to still run the factory Guage so it can talk to the computer . Cheers

The engine should have 2 sensors, 1 for the computer and the other for the factory gauge.
