if it has a button it has a light, the globe may be blown - does the traction control still function?

Did the light work before you "modded" it? Because it should have.

The Trac Ctrl light should come on momentarily on startup also - if it doesn't then I would assume the globe is blown.

No the light seems to not come on and there is no button. Infact, I have never seen this light on my dashboard.
The light never comes on even when I plug in the keys during start.

Should I assume that there is no light in Holden Vx executive 2001 ?

says you should see the light. Physical way..... skids? (in a controlled environment obviously) why were you trying to disable it anyway?

To check if globe working you would just need to pop the cluster out and swap with a known working globe. Something non essential like seatbelts or whatever - there are a heap of similar globes back there.

Hi mpower.

Thank you for you detailed response.
Unfortunately , when I turn on the key - it does not give any TRAC sign.
I am certain the bulb is not blown.
Is it possible that the VX 2001 did not have the TRAC sign on the dashboard ?

What are some other ways of testing the traction control ?

Do you have to traction control button next to the left of the gear selector? If not then you don't have traction control

Didn't think the vx exec had it

####ing stupid mod in the first place

Agreed I don't think the executive had traction control , as mentioned there will be a button mark T/ C next to gear lever .

I realised I made an error OP in my earlier post on how to test for the lights function, only the ABS and LOW TRAC lights come on at ignition.

To test to see if the TRAC CTRL light is working/enabled.

Turn off ignition
Hold the Mode and Down arrows and turn the ignition to on at the same time, (not acc and don't need to start the car)
release the buttons and you should get a chime of sorts
Next hit the mode button I think 2 or 3 times, you will get a long tone and all your gauges and lights will light up (you'll know what I mean with it happens)
The Traction Control light will come on if it is working/has a bulb in it.

I also don't think you have traction control to disable, so umm single peggers for you :)

Ok great.
I will try this out and report back later today/tomorrow morning.

I did have then pin 27 connected to the black/white stripes wire.
So whats it worth I cut it and hopefully its ok.
