hey everyone,
can anyone tell me what they think is the best alarms system out there for around $250-$350.
also i have not found many alarms systems with central locking included. how would it work i you already had central locking and you got an alarm. would they go together
Please explain
thanks guys
You should be able to get a Rhino car alarm system for that. Hornet , Viper.
These alarm units should have the outputs to engage/disengage the central locking system.
dont buy anything but one of these they are top alarms
www.dynamco.com.au
www.australianvehiclesecurity.com.au
im not admiring your car im looking in disgust
i hooked my central locking up with no problems I also hooked up my boot to release from the remote
just make sure if you have a negative trigger central locking system you get an alarm with a negative trigger
actually you dont have to but if the locking system is a positive trigger you will just need to hook the negative trigger (from alarm) to a relay to switch power to the locking system

don't buy rhino. they are crap. majority of alarms hook to central locking. depends on c/locking as to how it hooks up. i think there is 4 different ways. i got one for 150 off ebay by tech3. wasn't sure how good they were so investigated the company and found they do ecu and other computer components for high powered turbo's and stuff so can't be to bad. hooks up to c/locking, electric windows and boot release. has code hopping, motion sensor with warning, silent arm, etc only has one inhibitor though but not hard to wire in a kill switch yourself.
how much u wanna protect decides how much the alarm should be![]()
not necessarily. go to an ebay store or find a wholesaler. cancel out the middle man and save a couple of hundred.Originally Posted by rb01

The current range recomended for the Holden animal range from $499 to about $800 then the radio signal sending versions are upwards of $1,850 for the best down to about $1,500, includes panic button and a heap of goodies.
Others send a signal to your mobile phone, interesting one that.
Ya get what you pay for, I bought an alarm for the HK when it was only 5 YO, it cost $350 way back then, avoid Ebay.
The Cyclops models from www.dynamco.com.au aren't very good,
I've got one on my VT and it's pure crap for the top of the line model(came with car) Buy a Viper/Clifford if you want a good alarm with lifetime warranty if installed by pro.
the cyclops has crappy range and the alarm is flaky
have had Viper and Hornets in all my other rides and never had an issue except one dead remote which they fixed on the spot no questions asked

Unfortunately you will always get what you pay for, a good alarm that covers all dors, boot, bonnet, movement inside via infared sensors, window breakage or opening, and external movement including things like jacking it up to steal your wheels will cost ya $1500 - $1800 or so fitted.
The cheapest worth buying will cost you about $500, it all depends on how much you like to keep your car, remember if they really want it, no alarm will stop them.
The fitting is needed as it is wired into the harnes and the immobiliser etc, those things need to be done profesionally or one may end up with a car that don't start.
